Vecchio Magazzino Doganale - Gil Gin Peated

Gin inspired by the explorations of Dr. Gil, a physician aboard the ship that wrecked in Calabria in the late 19th century alongside Jefferson. Dr. Gil ingeniously fashioned a gin using locally sourced botanicals, which are recuperated in this exceptional Italian rural gin undergoing distillation with four primary botanicals: Rocca Imperiale juniper, absinthe, elderberry, and angelica. The result is then enriched with infusions of PGI lemons from Rocca Imperiale, bergamot and bitter orange Pellaro, as well as oregano from Paola and aloe, which are left to meld for a duration of 3-4 months. The gin is filtered through a simple linen cloth. The rural peat is crafted using Sila chestnut wood and Sila peat. One of a kind and must try for sure!
