In 1845, a stroke of genius from pastry expert Gian Battista Pezziol led to the creation of an Italian legend known as VOV. This liqueur is made from egg yolks, Marsala wine, alcohol, and sugar - the same ingredients found in the traditional Italian dessert Zabaione, which has been enjoyed since the late 15th century. VOV became popular as energy drink and a tonic in the 1960s and 1970s, and is today still unmissable in the cold season.
