This wine is made entirely from Nebbiolo grapes from vineyards in Gattinara averaging 40 years in age. On the nose, it has intense aromas of rose, violet, dried figs, licorice, and spices. The same are reflected in the month, with a warm, dry, and austere palate, complemented by soft, well-balanced tannins. The vines grow in porphyritic volcanic soils, trained using the Guyot method and harvested manually in 20 kg crates. With a yield of about 60 quintals per hectare, fermentation occurs in stainless steel, including a 30-day skin maceration with manual delestage and punching down, followed by natural malolactic fermentation in stainless steel. Ageing occurs in barriques for 24 months, plus andother 12 months in stainless steel before resting in the bottle.
