Liqueur created by the Medici family who jealously guarded the recipe and called it the “Elixir of Long Life”. Characteristic of this liquor in the past was the use of the dried bodies of cochineal bugs that would leave a purple colour used to dye fabrics and add colour to drinks. Delicate sweet and spicy notes with a persistent finish.
