Giordano stands alone as the sole producer bottling this Barbaresco cru. The Cavanna site, a natural amphitheatre, rivals many of Barbaresco’s top vineyards. Its 65-year-old vines capture intricate mineral nuances, offering an elevated bouquet of tea, dried roses, and orange zest. The aroma is distinctly floral, dominated by rose, with subtle smoky and herbal hints of underbrush, forest floor, and wild strawberry. On the palate, the wine is ample and initially gentle, evolving into a savory, toasty finish marked by lively acidity, refined tannins, and Nebbiolo’s characteristic dusty close. It delivers good length, though the finish is straightforward.
